Zeno Media Partnership Delivers First Mobile Carrier Supported Audio Streaming Service in The Bahamas

A Partnership with Zeno Media – a streaming company has made Bahamas Telecommunications Company to become the first mobile carrier in the Bahamas to introduce a Radio App.

App to deliver exclusive radio content

Inspired by innovative and commitment to deliver great content to listeners worldwide, Zeno Media has announced a ground breaking partnership with Bahamas’ leading telco – Bahamas Telecommunication Company aimed at providing exclusive broadcast content to address the radio listening needs of the Bahamian, Haitian and Jamaican diaspora communities.
The partnership according to Zeno Media’s Chief Executive officer Morris Berger is the first of its kind for content delivery on the carrier side and features exclusive radio content from the Bahamas, Haiti and Jamaica. With the App, users will listen to live and on demand content, and at the same time have access to download their favourite podcasts.
"We believe this unique model is one that can be replicated across multiple regions globally. With our exclusive and global licensing agreements, along with mobile operators network of subscribers, we have the opportunity to help broadcasters increase audience footprint and advertising revenues." Said Morris.

BTC’s ‘Blue Letter’ Day

BTC’s Director of Consumer Operations, Ben Freeman highlighted that his company is committed to creating meaningful moments for their customer base as he welcomed the historical partnership with Zeno Media and the launch of the new App.
“Starting today, customers can download our BTC Radio App. This is yet another ‘Blue Letter’ day in the history of BTC. We are proud to be the first mobile carrier to introduce radio app, providing access to local radio stations free of charge.” Noted Freeman
Zeno Media has in the past few years been making it possible for immigrants living far away from their home countries to listen to their favourite radio stations from back home through the Call to Listen innovation. Listeners are provided with telephone numbers that they can simply call to listen to radio stations of their choice from back home without incurring internet data costs.
According to the company website, “Call-to-Listen is a free advertising supported listening service designed for audio broadcasters.” It makes it possible for listeners to listen to audio content from their favorite radio stations or personalities. The service reaches a geographically diverse audience and does not require one to have a smart phone, data plan or internet connectivity – just a simple phone call because it uses mobile minutes without additional charges.
In 2018, the streaming platform formerly known as Zeno Radio officially announced acquisition of AudioNow and branded to Zeno Media. In their formal announcement in June, 2018, they stated the acquisition was going to further their product offering thus, "...creating a global media powerhouse that serves 2 billion monthly listening minutes in more than 100 languages across 150 countries."
