Action 2015/Africa has joined other world leaders to condemn the recent terror attack at a Kenya University which left 147 dead.
The 2nd April 2015 dawn terror attack in Kenya’s North Eastern region by Al-Sshabaab adherents has been condemned by among other leaders US President Barrack Obama, His Holiness Pope Francis & Sudan’s President Omar Bashir.
Action/2015’s Africa Coordinator, Kyerewa Asamoah Sekpey said in an encouragement communication to Action2015-Kenya members over the Easter Weekend that Action/2015 movement strongly condemns the gruesome attack on innocent people on the continent and called on leaders to take action against terrorism.

Saying that Action/2015’s deepest thoughts and prayers are with Kenya at this time when the country is confronting the terrorism challenge from the neighboring Somalia, Asamoah Sekpey expressed sympathy to families of the dead and those wounded during the Garrisa University attack.

Cheboi warns that the world risks facing difficulties in achieving development targets, in the fight against poverty & climate change if drastic counter terrorism actions are not taken.
He said that Action2015/Kenya National Coalition received the news of the terror attack at the Garissa University with shock, revealing that the coalition will this week organize a peaceful demonstration to condemn terrorism and other forms of insecurity in solidarity with families who have lost loved ones.

The peaceful demonstration is expected to bring together the national coalition’s national and grassroots member organizations.

Kenya has been a target of the Somalia based Al-Shabaab militants before and after the country deployed the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers to Somalia in October 2011 for the Operation Linda Nchi and their subsequent integration into the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM)
Action/2015 is a growing global movement of over 1200 organizations in over 125 countries, spanning environmental, development and human rights movement. The movement is united in her focus to make year 2015 a huge breakthrough for people and planet.
In 2015 global leaders will hold two remarkable summits; in September the Millennium Development goals will be replaced by a new set of global development goals (the Sustainable Development Goals) and in December leaders will meet to adopt a new global agreement on climate change.
